Learning to love where I am at

at twenty three years of age it can be easy to find myself daydreaming about Mr. Right, and finding myself brooding over the fact that it is taking him to long to find me. But I am learning to love where I find myself right now.
As a wise woman in her elderly years once told me, "You will be married many more years than you will be single."
I am learning truly what a blessing singleness is, and when I stop to let myself contemplate it I truly enjoy being single. However it needs to be more than a time of enjoyment, more then a time to go wild, and have fun, and enjoy and pursue independence before the ball and chain of marriage is tied around my neck.
My single years need to be a time of industry, and learning. When I am married, the time will not be there to study theology and history the way I am able right now. Right now is the perfect time to read a plethora of books, to learn Russian and sign language, to spend hours in the saddle improving my riding skills, to write, and a whole slew of other things.
While I do desire to marry someday and I desire to have children, I am not going to pine away at it, I am not going to panic that Mr. Right will never find me hidden in the mountains of Pennsylvania. Instead I will redeem the time because the days are evil. I will love the station in life that the Lord had placed me in here and now, and I know that if I should ever marry that the way I spent my time in these single years has helped to prepare me for marriage, to be an asset to my husbands estate, to train our children, and so much more.
So young ladies please don't spend your single years in mini pretend marriages in dating relationships, or daydreaming about that Mr. Right, planning every detail or your wedding as we tend to do.
Instead I think it is more prudent of the Christian young lady to prepare for her marriage, not her wedding, by using this time to study God's word, and to develop skills.
